I’m super-duper excited to announce that Articulating Design Decisions is being developed into a book to be published by O’Reilly Media this summer (2015). Actually, you can already pre-order the book on Amazon (isn’t that crazy? It’s crazy to me because I’m still writing it!) I will also be creating a video series to accompany the book through O’Reilly’s video training portal. I couldn’t be more excited to have new channels for sharing my content and ideas. One of the things I’m passionate about is using effective communication with stakeholders to create the best possible experiences. It’s an honor to have this platform to help other people be better at their jobs.
Articulating Design Decisions: Communicate with Stakeholders, Keep Your Sanity, and Deliver the Best User Experience
Here’s the book’s back cover copy:
Every designer has had to justify designs to non-designers, yet most lack the ability to explain themselves in a way that is compelling and fosters agreement. The ability to effectively articulate design decisions is critical to the success of a project, because the most articulate person often wins. This book provides principles, tactics, and actionable methods for talking about designs with executives, managers, developers, marketers, and other stakeholders who have influence over the project with the goal of winning them over and creating the best user experience.
